License & Support

Free to use.

The SOE studios are free for anyone — to learn, teach, explore, and share. No account, no charge, no ads. Here's exactly what that covers, what's shared, and what stays reserved.

The terms, plainly

What's free, what's shared, what's reserved.

SOE is one project with four kinds of thing in it, and they're licensed differently on purpose.

The tools — free to use

The Life Field and the Torus Simulator are free for everyone: study, classroom use, exploration, and sharing. Use them as much as you like. No sign-up, no paywall, no advertising.

The code — open source (MIT)

The studio code is open source under the MIT licence — read it, learn from it, fork it, build on it. It stands on open foundations (Three.js, standard physics), and it's yours to check and extend. A credit is appreciated, not required.

Shared recipes — CC BY 4.0

Recipes contributed to the gallery are published under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0. Anyone may reuse and remix a recipe, with credit to whoever made it. That's what keeps the gallery a commons.

The films & images — © SOE

The visual studies SOE produces — the films, the stills, the audio, and everything after — remain copyright SOE, all rights reserved. Please don't copy, redistribute, or sell them without permission. Licensing and commission enquiries are welcome.

Support Keep it free.

SOE is free and ad-free, and means to stay that way. Running costs are small; new studies and features take time. If the work earns a place in your study or your teaching, you can leave a tip — entirely optional, and the tools stay free either way.
